Man, it's a parking lot full of C5's.... Only one C4 looks like. I guess that could be a C4 with the Gallardo body kit...

When are you going to work on that Callaway Corvette, Mike? I've already installed the drool guard on my keyboard and am anxiously awaiting the pictures...

Turn out for the CorvetteForum Detail Day at Meguiar's was stellar! With over 24 cars and 26 people in attendance, a good turn-out makes for a full parking lot and a full classroom!

What's fun about holding a detailing class for members of you car clubs online discussion forum is it gives your members a chance to meet one another, put a face to an Avatar, and check out each others cars...

Members of CorvetteForum displayed an excellent collection of Corvettes ranging in years, such as this black 1970 Corvette Stingray Convertible!

Other members cars were just as striking, for example, the black stripe on this pristine C5 roadster actually had a pearl with metallic blue flake, which really catches your eyes when you look at it in the bright sun.

The copper colored finish on this Corvette didn't escape our camera even though the owner parked it around the side,

This Corvette looked like it was on fire!

Note the painter even painted the flames onto the side mirrors...

This Corvette looked like it was breaking the law even when it was sitting still!

Here's a beautiful example of the C4 body style in Torch Red,

Here are two silver colored C5's, one with a black center stripe and the other without. Both look like they mean business!

Most of the Detailing Clinics we hold here at Meguiar's are based upon a specific car club, such as today’s event with members from the online Corvette club known as www.CorvetteForum.com.

Even so, there are always a few cars that show up that are not exactly related to the specific club in attendance. That said, not only are they always welcome, but they always add some extra spice to the mix!

Such as this beautiful and exotic looking Lamborghini!

And Chuck Felton's beautifully restored and hotrodded 1973 Chevrolet Camaro!

Woo! Lots of lookers there! Those flames are really cool. It's always amazing how many C5's there are out there compared to every other style, though. They just crush in sales! Looks like lots of Z06's there too! What sweet cars!

After the classroom session, it's time to head out to the Training Garage for the demonstrations and hands-on portion of the clinic.

Here a member of CorvetteForum tries out Hot Shine High Gloss Tire Spray (Trigger)

When it comes to cleaning, conditioning, protecting and beautifying the interior of a Corvette or any car, Meguiar's has you covered. The most important thing to remember when working on interiors, is to match your choice of product to the surface to which it is to be applied.

In the case of a Corvette interior, portions of the interior are leather, such as the face of the seats, while many other panels are vinyl. To clean and condition the black vinyl surrounding the tan leather portion of his seats, this member of Corvette Forum tries out Meguiar's Gold Class Dash & Trim Foam Protectant

The Gold Class Dash & Trim Foam is a rich, thick foam that you can either apply to the surface directly, or to a clean foam applicator pad as is seen below.

Then simply apply the product to the surface to be clean, conditioned and protected and work it in.

For extra cleaning strength for fine leather surfaces that show signs of dirt build up, Meguiar's recommends their Gold Class Rich Leather Aloe Cleaner. Again, we're going to first apply this rich, thick gel to our foam applicator pad and somewhat work it into the pad before applying it to the surface of the leather.

By using a foam applicator pad, we can use the ability of the foam to absorb the Aloe Cleaner and then release it onto the leather as we work the foam pad over the surface.

After thoroughly cleaning the leather, the next thing thing we did was to apply an application of Meguiar's Gold Class Rich Leather Aloe Conditioner

Meguiar's uses natural Aloe for its nutrient-rich, moisturizing and conditioning oils combined with their highly advanced polymers for unbeatable preservation and protection. Aloe replenishes, revitalizes, and maintains the leather's original suppleness while the breathable polymers protect the surface by repelling water stains and other types of liquid. Aloe moisturizers help prevent the leather from cracking and splitting while UVA and UVB inhibitors prevent premature aging and fading. Gold Class Rich Leather Aloe Conditioner leaves your leather looking rich, supple and natural.

The end results after cleaning, conditioning, protecting and adding beauty looks like this,

Another great product for conditioning and protecting vinyl while adding a rich new looking finish is Meguiar's NXT Generation Tech Protectant

You can spray his product directly onto the surface to be conditioned and protected, or you can spray it directly onto a clean foam applicator pad and then apply it to the surface. By applying the NXT Tech Protectant to a foam applicator pad first, you reduce the potential for overspray on surrounding areas.

When spraying a liquid protectant directly onto a foam applicator, hold the spray head close, and even right up against the surface of the foam.

The results look better than new!
