      Personally I wouldn't think it's a "waste".

As long as you bring the car inside after waxing and let the wax cure for about 12 hours, even if you get rain on the car after that the wax will still protect your car.

Rain only makes the car really dirty, it won't affect the wax and its abilities to protect your car. ( unless you wax your car in the rain )

It will make it easier to quickly and SAFELY wash the vehicle after the rains.

Plus, I don't know about you, but I LOVE to watch my wax effect the rain that falls on the car. Nothing like driving down the road in heavy rain with a mostly dry car because it sheets the water off so quickly

I don't think it's a waste. As long as you get it finished before the rain starts.

That was my reason for the question.

I like to see the water bead, and then when I take it for a drive, all the water sheets towards the back of my car fast :]....

It may be a myth but Ive heard the rain actually helps the wax cure since its nice and cool.

But if the wax didnt cure yet and the dirt from the rain gets onto the wax that might cause some problems,

                          I personally don't think it's a good idea

                            Re: Wax before rain

People have left wax to cure on a painted surface for 24hrs, and then remove it by spraying iced-water on the wax residue for removal. Why? Because once a wax has been sitting for a long time, it becomes hard to remove.

Haven't heard about using rain to help remove wax though.
