  • Black NSX , yeaa thats better!

Today I had a black NSX to "shine".

What I found was a car that had a pretty nice reflective shine already but a closer look with the xenon revealed a heavily scratched surface-

This car must have had part of it refinished because part of it was very hard and the rest was softer.

I found the refinished areas to be the hardest.

I tackled those areas with a wool pad /#85 diamond cut/rotory.

The softer areas got #85 with a maroon #7006 pad/rotory.

I then buffed the whole car with #8006 / #83 on a rotory.

The xenon found some very light buffer trails so I knocked those out with 8006/#9 with a DA set on 5.

The paint was then sealed with #21 sealant. The whole job took me a little over eight hours.

Very nice! I like the shot with the door cracked open.

Awesome door shot, and another great job done Superior Shine. You always seem to amaze me with your details and after photos, expectially your black cars because I too have a black auto myself.
How difficult it is to make a black car look flawless, but you seem to make that look easy. Not one hard water spot or swirl viewable on your shots.

Great Job!!! Also, 8 hours for a complete detail or just exterior? Did you have a fellow employee to help or were you alone? Usually you spend 4 - 5 hours, why 8 hours this time around? I'm just curious cause being a novice detailer, that would mean it would probably take me 2-3 times longer WITH hope to get results that are good, but not nearly as perfect as yours. As always, I appreciate your posts Superior Shine. I learn a great deal from your vast knowledge, photos and product choice. Thanks for sharing.

Joe, NSX look's very good. Was that finish worse than my Cobra's?

I don't even have to look at the pictures, when Joe posts in the extreme makeover forum, to know what I'm going to see!
                Shine baby shine!
                Looks beautiful as always!
How come you went with #9 on on the DA? Were the buffer trails extremely light?

i've got a question about this. my truck is also black, during the day it is glossy and reflective but during the night like say someone gets behind me with their headlights my paint looks really dull. does that happen to everyone?

No. Something is wrong. It should shine always.
