  • New Car:Interior

I just took delivery of a new car 2 weeks ago and I am wondering should I detail the interior.

I am talking about Ultimate Protectant which I used in my previous car with great success.

If you like it, use it! I picked up some 303 for my new car since I can use it on every surface on the interior, but mainly just to try something new. UP is terrific. I'll always like M40; I'll be grabbing a gallon of it next time due to its versatility.

Ultimate Protectant (Ultimate Black) works well.
However, I found UP great to “renew” a surface. Not sure how useful it is for a new car with new panels. I am concerned that once the UP dries up, the surface may be dull.

It's ultimately up to you & what you are comfortable with for your new car. Maybe perform a test spot and determine if you like the appearance of the product for the various interior panels. I wouldn't be concerned with any of our interior protectants altering the original appearance once they wear off.

I tend to like Quick Interior Detailer, at least at first.

Of course my new cars all were bought in summer, seemed like they needed to 'outgas' or something, because I kept getting a film on inside of my windows for a little while.

Curious about how to detail my interior. Mixture of leather and plastic, with leather steering wheel cover and shifter boot, leather seating surfaces, leather/vinyl trim on doors and dashboard. LCD screen and the normal collection of fingerprints.

One thing I deal with is pine pollen, which leaves a yellow film on every surface, inside and out.

            Suggestions are welcome.

The Quick Interior Detailer is pretty much the go to for any smooth surface for dusting and light dirt. And then I use some All Purpose Cleaner when a stronger cleaner is needed... like steering wheel or shifter.

As far as the seats, the same would work... but you might like the leather cleaner and conditioner for a little better care.

The only other thing would be if you wanted a dressing on the dash, etc... some people like it, or some just like the Quick Interior Detailer.

Gotta agree with using "Quik Interior Cleaner" especially on a new vehicle. The big beauty (for me) is is doesn't make the surfaces all shiney. Nice mat look.

After a new one finishes its' out gassing, I have (for a long time) favored M-40. Just not on a dash board though (try an keep the shine down on that surface).

To add...I also tend use M-40 on leather 'stuff', just go lightly with perforated seats. Ya don't want to get big build-up of product clogging the holes.

I am a big fan of QID for it ability to clean and provide UV protection while leaving the original patina. I hate products that leave a shine or greasy looking dash. I also like that it works well on vinyl, plastic leather, gauges and nav screen.
