Meguiars Paste Wax M16

I have been using the Ultimate Liquid Wax for the past years with great results.

I just found half a can of M16 in the basement. This M16 has been there for years. Is it still good? Is there an expiry date for car waxes?

You lucky person. People would cut off their left arm for a can of that stuff, including me. I would not hesitate to use it in a heart beat.

Not sure if it is still effective . This is an open can formmaybe 5-7 years!

For liquid wax, if it is too old, the wax would separate.

Well, I can't think of why it would go "bad". I have some very old (maybe 20 years) liquid Turtle wax that I use to wax outdoor things like my AC unit, and it is fine. In my opinion the older waxes, true waxes, will last. Perhaps they do not perform as long as the synthetic "wax" we are now forced to use, but I don't think they go bad. Maybe the newer ones do, but not the ones packed with VOCs. If nothing else, I would like to have some, just to smell it. That vanilla smell of UP wax, is a little dainty for my liking.

I still have 2 unopened, full tins and one half full. I love this wax as a beauty wax.

As long as your old can of M16 isn't dried out and crumbling, it's still good to go. The two worst things that generally happen to paste waxes are when they dry up completely and become rock hard or start to crumble, or if mold starts to grow. Both are pretty rare, though.

And, for what it's worth (and I swear I'm not just trying to make people jealous here!!!) I have at least a dozen cans of M16 in a private stash that I give out as prizes on special occasions. It's still available for sale in the UK, and it's hugely popular over there. But then again, the UK is a paste wax haven and they're nuts for that sort of thing.

I have two tins of M16 and have never opened or used them. Maybe I should try it out one day!

I plan to wax my new car before the snow.
Have to decide to use #16 or Ultimate Liquid Wax? Keep in mind that this is probably the last time I will wax this winter.

I'd go ULW for longevity. It should still be more durable than M16.

I have 3 cans sitting in my closet and will be used only on my own cars. Should last me the rest of my days. Might be my favorite wax ever.
