  • PAD cleaning

I just tried my new disc(DFP5) for the first time. During the wash cycle a microfiber towel got mixed in. When they came out the pads had a grey tinge to them instead of the bright yellow. Has this ever happened to anyone else? Does it cause an issue with the disc? Is it possible to get them back to their normal color?

    Thanks

What color was the towel? What polish was used on the pads?

I wash my pads by hand instead of washing in the washer. The only staining I have experienced is that of some polishes that are grey or blue.

Sounds like a dye issue. The pad itself is fine; it's just a different color. I recently had a red detailing towel bleed and then my new pads a really interesting color. They work fine though.

        Thanks for the replies.

The towel was dark blue/navy. The polish was M205.

Could be dye, but the towel was washed a few times.

lesson learned, pay more attention. brand new pads discolored.
