  • How best remove rubber marbles from rear qtr panel

What is the best way to remove rubber marbles from the rear quarter panel.
On the driver side, they cover the whole rear side turn indicator. Only cover half on the passenger side.

This is how they get on the quarter panel.

Get some really big mud flaps

I know you can help PREVENT them by applying a quality wax/sealant on the areas BEFORE you make your burnout & run ... I THINK a tar remover would be your best bet.

Are you trying to remove them from a flat black painted surface, as shown in the video?

Well then, I can't say I've worked on flat black before. Except for vinyl stickers. That'll be interesting trial and error. Let us know what works.

Old Bear, I would suggest looking into an automotive specific solvent, like 3M 03618 Automotive Adhesive Remover. You basically are going to need some type of solvent, which will safely loosen up the petroleum based material. Keep word here is "safely." This is why I tend to recommend an automotive specific solvent, like a wax & grease remover. I unfortunately do not have any experience using these types of products on flat black. Keep in mind though, even rough agitation with a dry microfiber towel can at times provide gloss to a flat black paint.

              OK For fun.

HkdUp87 found one way to remove the tire marbles from behind the rear wheel wells.

They cut sections off the rear fenders, Then welded on sections from the front fenders.
Actually, this allowed HkdUp87 to raise the wheel wells about 3 inches in the rear. This also let the rear be dropped to grip better at launch. It also added more clearance for the 11 inch wide GoodYear slicks.

One of our MOL memebrs PM'd me a product to try. I will try to remember to take it Thursday to Irwindale Dragstrip, so we can try it.
