  • Would it be a good idea to use Meguiar ultimate liquid wax on headlights?

Would there any problems of doing this? It should work the same as it does on paint and it would a long lasting protection, especially if your headlights have been recently restored or buffed. or would it affect the headlights? I just want to protect them, but I don't like the idea of putting a film on them. I figure the since is a sealant, it should last 3 months and it would repel grime, water spots, the sun, etc. Could the wax even if removed properly caused them to stain?

It shouldn't be a problem, although Meguiar's has a sealant specially made for plastic headlights. As for the durability of Ultimate Wax vs. Meguiars Headlight Protectant, it would be safe to say that the Headlight Protectant will work better, since it is designed specifically for plastic headlights.

I've used it on headlight lenses for years. No issues. I'd highly recommend using it for UV protection.

UW will be fine to use. It may not last as long but something is better than nothing.

You may not like the idea of film but it protects better than a sealant. Protects from the headlights yellowing as well as damage from road debris being flung at the car (aka road rash or pitting). I have my headlights covered with xpel film and won't look back.

The new heavy duty kit comes with the new sealant. You don't have to use the contents of the kit if your headlights are in good condition.

Or pick up the aerosol coating. Just be sure to mask the area to protect yourself from overspray. Same form of protection as the heavy duty kit but in aerosol form.

Ultimate is OK to use for headlights & tail lights, but like others have said, we have products designed specifically for this task which will perform better. Out latest offering for this is Meguiar's Keep Clear Headlight Coating. More information can be referenced at the following below link:
