Greetings from way too sunny New Mexico

Hey everyone, I'm Rob. For a long time I didn't take too much care for detailing my car, but it recently became kind of an obsession of mine. I'm kind of facing the perfect storm of problems out here that I am trying to find creative ways to overcome. I live in an apartment that the only redeeming quality is I have a very flat parking surface. Beyond that I can only keep the car out of the sun until about 10am give or take. We also have some of the hardest water in the country around here due to the local geology. All of this combines to make detailing my car or even just washing it rather hard. So on to some of what I use. I recently acquired a whole ton of stuff to try to get into detailing my car. For equipment, I got the Auto Geek inline water filter system with both the sediment filter and the water softener. I also bought the MT-300 DA polisher after having tried using just the DA polisher system that plugs into the drill. I liked the drill version but it was just so dang small, but I wanted to keep it for doing small tight spaces on the car where as I can use the MT-300 on the larger panels. After watching a bunch of the Auto Fetish Detail videos on YouTube I have become hooked on the Detailer line concentrates and have acquired most of them and have been using them on the interior and the tires and wheels. But now I really want to figure out a way to attack the paint and really make my car look the best it can. Just a matter of overcoming the previously mentioned limitations I have. Anyways, guess I went a bit further than just saying hi, but I'm always trying to learn more information about detailing and if I didn't own so many guns, I wish I lived in Cali so I could go to the Open Garage nights to learn from the best.

Thanks. Already seen #1 and #3 but I like to watch #1 as a refresh. Haven't seen #2 but I already have two Meguiars 5-gallon buckets with grit guards. Definitely noticed how much junk was coming off in the water bucket the first time and was rather shocked

Sometimes we overthink things too much. Start with a test spot and go from there.
