  • water spots and 'insects' spots

    Hi all!

After the first season of waxing, I realized that front bonnet has some sposts. I suspect that they are water's sposts when I parked the auto near a Garden watering can which contains limestone in the water.
I'd like to understand if is better remove the with the ultimate polish or with the ultimate compound.

The spots are visible only in a backlight mode.

Also, there are some spots on the front bumper, caused from insects especially in the summer on high speed. Since I made a claying before the wax I tried if the clay bar was able to remove them, but it wasn't.

They aren't really visible with a photo...Is there a way to remove them?
    Thanks.

    Hello,

Are you working by hand or machine?

Ultimate Polish is a cleaner/polish mild cleaning ability. Ultimate Compound is a dedicated compound with significantly more cleaning ability, but is needed often for more stubborn below surface defects.

I would recommend doing a test spot with Ultimate Polish. If Ultimate Polish does not remove, then you can use Ultimate Compound.

Let us know how you will be applying and if you would like, we can provide more detailed instruction for how to best apply.

      Hello Nick,

      I'm working by hand.

Time ago, in march, a coachbuilder make the polish season for me, but I don't know if he didn't apply the polish well, or the spots didn't go away. The are visible only if the car is recently washed.

Yes, I would agree, if they are difficult to see in certain lighting, the technician may have missed them.

If working by hand, we typically like to use separate clean soft foam wax applicator pads like our W0004 Soft Foam Applicator Pads for applying each product. Some general tips for applying, always work on a clean and cool surface. Keeping your hand flat, apply the product in circular, overlapping motions, with moderate pressure, working in for about a minute or so. The product should break down to a light wet translucent film, which you will want to wipe off with a microfiber towel, like our X2020 Supreme Shine Microfiber Towel, before it dries. If product ever does dry on the surface, you can always re-apply a little more wet product to help take it off.

Do not be surprised if you cannot improve by hand even with Ultimate Compound. They may have to be looked at by a professional with a machine.

          Hi Nick,

I pointed out those spots to the technician but he probably fail to remove them.

Anyway, what about the second photo and the spots on the front bumper?

Any hints? Would bug and tar remove help?

I don't see any bugs, but what appears to me as chips in the paint caused by tiny projectiles. (sand and hard bugs maybe). I am even more inclined to believe that since you say clay did not remove it. If in fact, those spots are tiny chips in the paint, there is nothing to remove. Looks like road rash to me.

You have to use good waxing compound.Simply start again and wash the car and dry it down before the spots removes completely
