Many of the older door sills are actually aluminium with a coating or anodize coat.

Which car do you have with chrome door sills?

Its a 2007 Corvette with these door sills I bought some clear plastic protectors for them, this says they're aluminum with chrome plating
I didn't buy them so I'm guessing these are the same

Let's see if I can post that image for us.

This is an after market chrome plated aluminum door sill on a recent c6 Corvette.
Someone has drug shoes or vacuum hoses across the chrome and scratched it.
What would be a good way to minimize the scratches.

I bought some clear plastic protectors from zip Corvette that fit right over them I wanted to see if I could get rid of them scratches before I put them on

I would tape off the red paint.
I would either work real carefully by hand, or also tape of the black CORVETTE lettering.
