  • Perfect Clarity Glass Cleaner

Any chance of ever seeing this available in gallon containers? I started using it this year and find it better than Stoner's Invisible Glass after having used that for decades. I love this glass cleaner, but I'd rather buy it in bulk, as it's one of the products I use the most of in my detailing.

    Re: Perfect Clarity Glass Cleaner

I don't think Megs will likely sell Perfect Clarity Glass cleaner in gallons, but if you need a good glass cleaner in a bulk sizing, I'd recommend getting D120, it's a concentrate and one gallon makes 11 gallons of glass cleaner. It has a nice scent to it as well which makes it great to use, really economical.

Meguiars D120 Glass Cleaner 1 Gallon - Makes 11 gallons of streak-free cleaner! There are two problems with household glass cleaners: they dont work well on automotive glass and they dont give you a lot of cleaner for your money. Meguiars ...

That's too bad, if so. I don't have any interest in glass cleaners with heavy dyes in them. Too many horror stories about D120 to not be comfortable with the color dye used in it. Not worth the risks, IMO.

I second D120. I've been using it for years and it is excellent! A gallon lasts a long time. I use it with some glass-cleaning microfibers I bought from AutoDetailingSolutions.com years ago - they are a great combination. And, yes, I agree it smells nice as well!

I'm curious what the horror stories are. I've been using it for years with no issues. I wouldn't say it has heavy dyes, either. Oddly enough, I recently gave a lady some. She didn't have a spray bottle, so I poured some into a glass jar she had. It was almost completely clear. Perhaps it's just because it's older? All that to say, I've never had an issue with it.

The only dye issue I've had with it ever is years ago when they had a bad dye lot and the whole gallon turned orange. I called Meguiar's Customer Support and they sent me a new gallon, no charge. I gave the orange gallon to my sister and kept some for myself. We use it around the house and, again, it still works great! Just looks odd for it to be orange-ish.

Curious about the horror stories too. I haven't heard a bad thing about it.

Ditto. Used gallons of this over several years and never have seen a dye issue. My favorite glass cleaner bar none.

This was one of the first places I had heard about it when I was researching it... then found similar discussions elsewhere on teh interwebs.

I don't know what went on with the guy's bottles turning yellow.
I have a Megs bottle for both the glass cleaner and wheel brightener and I can tell ya, I don't have this issue with the bottles discoloring like in the video.
My bottles are about 5-6 years old and kept in a cool location year round. I have 2 D120 bottles and 3 wheel brightener bottles...none have any staining or discoloration

My D120 spray bottle is actually starting to yellow like in the video. It is the only bottle that is doing that.

Mind you I am in Southern California where it is mid 70's about 90% of the time.

Hey all, just wanted to chime in. D120 Glass Cleaner Concentrate has been very popular for many many years with raving fans on a global scale. We are talking customers which would call us just to rave about it. 4.4 out of 5 stars on Amazon.com based on 116 reviews. It is also widely used in high volume & "high end" pro environments & simply put, we just don't get many complaints. It is fair to say that Perfect Clarity Glass Cleaner & our old NXT Generation Glass Cleaner are both derivatives of D120 Glass Cleaner Concentrate as well.

                      Hope this helps!

Nick, one online pro detailer claims that D120 leaves stains on some vehicle trim from overspray as well as changes the color (stains) of his Meg's 32 oz. spray bottles. He also says that it is his opinion that there is a dye agent in the D120 that he believes causes this. What's your take on this and has Megs received complaints in this regard.
