Vinly scratch used a hair dryer help?

Hi friends i had a scratch on the black vinyl of my interior trim started watching youtube and used a hair dryer the scratch seems to have disappeard but now the vinyl trim has a patch that is bright dark its brighter then the rest of the vinyl plastic panel.

I wonder if that vinyl has been painted.
The dryer I think works if the material is a solid color.
There is a company called SEM that makes a vinyl paint (prep, adhesion promotor and paint).

I haven't tried either.
Several of the folks on the www.elcaminocentral.com forum have had success with the paints.
Like all paints ..... prep and adhesion is the key.

Don't mess with paint. You have about a 99% chance of making it worse. Same thing with dye. Something to remember...scratches and scuffs in interior vinyl are forever. A pro interior restoration guy might have a fix, but I'll bet that you will still notice it. I'll also bet that within the next month you will have another scratch or scuff.

No, our Ultimate Black or Ultimate Protectant spray will not help with this issue. We really don't have much experience with vinyl paints, etc. We would seek professional help! Try to find someone who offers this repair as a service, possibly an auto upholstery or interior shop.
