  • Help!!

I have a white aluminum skin horse trailer. I tried to remove one of the old vinyl stripes and it took off everything... i.e. I'm staring at shiny aluminum where the stripe was😫😫
    What can I do???

Welcome to Meguiar's Online! A picture would really help us! Each MOL user has the ability to create albums in the "gallery" section of the forum. Once an album is created you are able to upload pictures into the gallery. Once the image is uploaded, you can copy & past it into your post.

I understand it can be frustrating and I apologize for any inconvenience. You may have to use a image re-sizer software to re-size the image to a smaller size. Forum technology can still be a little old school.

If you would like in the meantime, you can send it direct to my e-mail and I can upload it for you: nawinn@meguiars.com.

              Re: Help!!

So unfortunately from the looks of the picture, if this is a painted white aluminum trailer, and the area where the vinyl was removed there is no paint, the only way to repair is to essentially re-paint.

                  Re: Help!!

I was wondering if Graphxoff would take the rest of the striping off but leave the paint. At least then I could replace with new striping

How did you remove the stripe you already took off? It looks like possible a eraser wheel?

                        Re: Help!!

Goof Off works very well. Goof Off and scraping could have been the cause of the paint coming off.

The only way it would budge was by scraping.

                            Possibly this will help.

Did you use a metal scraper?
A plastic or nylon scraper might be less abrasive on the underlying paint. Yet no scraper will be safe on paint.
