  • What Foam Pads will work with my G110V2?

I have owned the G110V2 polisher for about 5 years and just finally used my last Soft Touch 2.0 pad (bought a boat load 2 years ago). I went to purchase more and they are nowhere to be had. What 7" pad will work with the G110V2 or even a 6" or 6.5" pad? I don't want to change the backing plate (if a current one is even available) rather just use pads that will work.

    Thanks

with the W67DA backing plate you can use any soft buff 2.0 pad (W8006/W8209 etc). I personally never went above 6 inches because I didn't like that big of a pad. My local PepBoys and Walmart still carry the W line

I know use DFC5 with the DBP backing plates. The thin foam (same foam used in the W line) allows for better "feel" for pressure when compounding/polishing. It also allows for MF pads using the DBP backing plate for more fine tuning (IMO). The DFC comes in 5 or 6 inch pads if you like the 6's and there is a 3 inch backing plate if you want to step down to a 4 inch pad for the tighter areas. I personally find the 5 inch pad to be a good all around size and like it over the 6 inch (it is also cheaper). My local detailing shop (detailing.com) carries the thin discs so I just pick some up when I already have to get other detailing goodies anyway.

    hope this helps

We understand you do not want to change the backing plate out. I wanted to bring up that you can gain a big increase in cutting & finishing performance if you did switch to our 5" Soft Buff DA Foam Discs with the accompanying DBP5 backing plate. Much smoother operation. Much more efficient pad rotation. For the G110v2, it makes the tool feel like a completely different machine. We also now have the DA specific foam cutting pad, the DFC5 5" Soft Buff DA Foam Cutting Disc, which we did not in the past. More information on these disc & backing plate can be referenced in the below thread:

Meguiar's Soft Buff DA Foam Discs & Backing Plates

We no longer produce any pads which will fit the W68DA backing plate.

Will the DBP5 work with other brand pads such as Lake Country?

Also, why has the world seem to move to a 5" from the 7" or 6" pad? Was it cost or performance or a combo of both? If I decided to use the 6" DBP6 that should work as well correct?

        Thanks

I decided on the DBP5 5" backing plate along with the 5" pads DFF5 and DFP5 from Meguiars.! I look forward to being able to continue to use my G110V2 with this new setup

          Thanks

I love their thin foam discs!

If you have the chance, go with them. I believe the 6" would work on your plat, but not 100% sure.

With a random orbital Dual Action Polisher machine like the G110v2/MT300 or similar, pad rotation translates to better cutting & better finish polishing ability. With the thin low profile design of our Soft Buff DA Foam Discs, we are able to achieve much more efficient pad rotation, again expanding our cutting & finishing ability. Also, the smaller the pad on Dual Action Polisher machine, the more aggressive, especially when cutting/compounding. This design also allows for very smooth operation. Yes the 6 inch will work, but you will notice a significant difference in performance from the 5" vs 6". We recommend the 5" for best performance on your machine.
