DPF6 with W68DA??

I wanted to order new pads, but just realized that the pads I was using (W8207) are discontinued.
I'm not sure if I can use the new pads (DPF6) with my old backing plate W68DA, or if I also need a new backing plate?

Yes, we recommend also ordering the new accompanying backing plate, which for our 6 Inch Soft Buff DA Foam Discs is our DBP6 (5/16:24). Also, if you are using a standard stroke machine like our G100, G110, G110v2, MT300, PC7424, GG6, or similar, we recommend using our 5 Inch Soft Buff DA Foam Discs & backing plate (DBP5) for best results. Our 6 Inch Soft Buff DA Foam Discs are for tools like the Flex 3401, Rupes Bigfoot 15/21, or any other large throw DA Polisher, or for a pneumatic DA Polisher.

I already ordered the 6" pads, and still have some of the older 6" versions to use.
I have the G110v2, but now i'm not sure if I should try to get an exchange for the 6" pads, or just go with a 6" backplate and hope I still get decent results..?

It can make quite a significant difference especially on the G110v2 with the the smaller 5 inch discs, especially for cutting/compounding.
