  • What to buy for a very light silver paint

So I have a Toyota Avensis in Silver, which is very light and rarely gets much attention when polished due to being so light silver. Im used to dark colours which really stand out

As my usual list of UC, clay bar has run out Im in the market for something for this car specifically, I have some nxt2.0 left over, some cleaner wax and quik wax

    So, Ill:

Wash - (nxt or ultimate in shed)
    Clay - generic medium bar
    Paint cleanser??
    Polish/glaze??
    Wax - NXT 2.0

Or is there a better product out for this type of car after claying? I dont mind ditchign the nxt for the missus red car.

This old thread may be of some help, considering the products you have. I have a classic silver Avalon and after I clayed it I used a polish then Collinite 845 with good results. The metallic flakes really stood out.

With what you have you can

        Wash
        Clay
        Ultimate Compound if needed
        Ultimate Polish
Seal with NXT or Ultimate Wax. Ultimate Wax will last a little longer than NXT.

Light colors respond very well to products with a good amount of cleaning ability in them. The cleaning ability works to really brighten up the paint & produce a high gloss and almost make it "pop", since it's tough to get depth out of a light color. A cleaner/polish product like our Ultimate Polish or our M205 Ultra Finishing Polish does a great job at this task, especially applied via DA Polisher.

Ok so yesterday, I didnt have any clay but it was smooth from the clay i perfromed2 months ago

I rinse soaked, washed with nxt2, then applied by hand in the motion of a da Ultimate Polish - this alone brought up the deep shine I'd expect from a coloured car - looked great.
Then, topped off with some NXT 2.0

Must admit I was very pleased and the car got some looks when I took a slow drive out.

However, it was a lot of hard work by hand... Ill get a DA one day... Ive got some Quick Wax so I can top it up each wash now for a few weeks at the very least.

I would like to try for a deeper shine however, so Ive bought some Ultimate compound and clay bar, then Ill do it all again!

After hoovering th car i was poopped!
