  • Meguiar's M7 Glaze Properties/ Over Gold Class Question?

I’d like to enhance the shine, depth and clarity in using Meguiar's M7 Mirror Glaze Show Car Glaze . Does this car glaze contain any abrasives, and is the Meguiar’s M7 a pure glaze? Presently, I have about five coats of Meguiar’s Gold Class on the surface. Do I have to remove the wax base to apply the glaze or can I use the glaze over the multiple coats of wax, then reapply the Meguiar’s Gold Class?

I’m aware of the glazes containing oils and other properties to flatten the surface by filling in any imperfections. Some say the glaze will remove the wax coat or cause cloudiness. Could any provide a synopsis as to whether I can apply the Meguiar’s M7 over Meguiar’s Gold Class without any detrimental effects? I really do not wish to strip or clay the car again. Thank you very much.

    Hi synoptic12,

Since our #7 Show Car Glaze is a pure polish, which contains no abrasives, it does not have a great amount of ability to remove your coat of wax. It would be best to remove the wax first, then apply #7, and then re-wax.

Also we would like to mention to keep in mind that wax does not layer. A second coat will ensure even coverage, and is recommended, at best a full 12 - 24 hours apart from the first, but after two coats there is no benefit.

Any of our Cleaner/Polishes will remove your protection, like Ultimate Polish, M205 Ultra Finishing Polish, clay bar will remove wax also.

Thank you very much for the detailed information. I wait about two to three days before reapplying wax. You are correct in saying that anything over two coats is basically useless. Will forego the glaze and continue with Meguiar's Gold Class.

I believe that Gold Class contains a load of "glaze" in the formula, which helps give it lush, wet look it's kind own for.

Thank you for that information. Still using the Gold Class, along with the Meguiar's High Tech #26 Yellow wax. I still see the Gold Class as a better shine. However, the #26 seems to be a 'harder' topcoat.
