  • Can APC go bad??

Hey everyone, got a stupid question for you guys. I'm in need of some all-purpose cleaner to clean car seats, but don't have time to order any. However, I have almost an entire gallon of D103 (the ORANGE All Purpose Cleaner, yea the old school stuff) that's been sitting in my garage for 2-3 years. Just wondering if this stuff can expire, or if being in the hot garage(I live in Texas) can degrade the formula. Any input? I'll be cleaning black/dark gray cloth seats with it for the most part so I just don't want it to discolor anything. Thanks.

In general, shelf life is 3 - 5 years, and product should not be exposed to prolonged extreme heat or cold. That said, if a product ever is in a "spoiled" state, it it not necessarily going to hurt anything, it is just not going to perform as well.

Secondly, if you end up using it, always test a small inconspicuous area, like underneath the back of the seat. When working on any surface above the carpet it is typically rec recommended to spray the cleaner directly onto a microfiber towel. For cleaning of upholstery seating, the "bonnet" cleaning method works great. This is were a microfiber towel is wrapped around a stiff bristled carpet brush, and then this is used to clean the surface. An example can be seen in the below video:
