  • RV Waxing - Didn't turn out as good as expected

This is my first post. Did some searching and couldn't find an answer.

I bought my my first motor home (a 2005 Allegro Bay 34XB w/painted stripes) and it needs some detailing on the outside. The sides are in good shape, but the front and rear have some oxidation. The front is pretty chalky looking. I decided to start with the sides so I gave it a good wash with Dawn and started on the passenger side with the cleaner wax that I use on my cars. After getting most of the side done, I noticed the usual shine I get from the cleaner wax, but noticed some cloudiness and swirling in the white areas. The strips look great, but I'm just not satisfied with the white areas.

I just assumed the the automotive cleaner wax that I have used for years on my cars would work on the fiberglass. What have I done wrong to cause the cloudiness/swirling/splotchiness and what can I do to correct it? I did all this by hand and needless to say it was a lot of work.
