  • Pictures from Thursday Night Open Garage - April 14th, 2016

Our first project for the night was this 2006 Pontiac which upon evaluation needed some assistance!

We first used a clay bar to remove the bonded contaminants.

We used the fluorescent lights in our garage and a few different LED lights to evaluate the color. Based on the amount of swirls, scratches, and overall lack of clarity, we choose our DA Microfiber Correction System.

The left side of this hood in this picture you can see the reflection of the scratches and lack of clarity, the right side is just after the DA Microfiber Correction Compound & DMC5 step, with our MT300 Dual Action Polisher, at speed 5800 OPMs with 4 moderate pressure section passes.

We then got the car owner his hands on using a DA and emphasized to keep in mind machine pressure, pad rotation, arm speed, and pad angle.

We did not plan on working on other areas of the car but with a slower night we needed something to do! When we asked the car owner Jorge if he was OK with that he happily agreed!

And here we go! Five MT300's running at once!

I was happy to see allenk4 decided to do his own 50/50 on the back of the car because it made for some great pictures.

    Just a little difference!

Thanks to everyone for coming out!

Great night, I learned a lot and got to meet some very nice helpful people (everyone was) and learn a lot about the products and proper techniques. On top if it all my car did a 180, I was very lucky to get this type of treatment. I highly encourage anyone thinking about it to go for it. Nick did an exceptional job at instructing and clarifying and confusions I had. Luckily I took some before pics ill post them here later, thanks once again!

The car looks sweet. Aren't you glad I told you about these classes. Was compounding the only thing done to it?

There was a lot of wind this weekend, gave me a thin layer of dirt. I washed it and added quick wax. Thanks to the compound and polish done it only took me a light wash and spray wax to get a really nice look again.
