I don't use fabric softener with MF towels, I know it coats them & ruins the great absorbency. I do use dryer. I ordered 3 Megs products from Amazon yesterday; ULW, Clay Kit & X2000 Water Magnet MF towel. I already have plenty of MFs but for $8.94, I'll see how I like this waffle weave one. After I use the ULW, I'll see how 'waxy' the MF towel is. Maybe I'll rinse them off b4 washing with my drying towels.

Do yourself a huge favor and wash/dry that Water Magnet drying towel before you use it the first time. It will make a noticeable difference, trust me!!! Also, make use of the sheeting method with the hose (nozzle off, steady stream of water running over the paint) before drying the car. You'll have much less water to remove from the surface that way. I normally use two Water Magnets when drying a car - the first, folded in 8ths for the initial wipe and the second, folded in quarters, for a final wipe.

Thanks for the tips! I will wash new MF towel b4 1st use. I never used drying towels folded as you describe, just had then fully open. Here in Phoenix it is very dry, often hot & dry! Today will ~ 87 degrees. I may use the sheeting method in winter but, probably not in summer when the sun tends to dry the car too quickly for me. Do not have shade when wash my cars.

BTW, still have much trouble using the forum & typing direct into the text field.

Today I washed, clayed & sealed & it looks great! I used the ULW sparingly & it was surprisingly easy to wipe off with no white residue! Awesome! This was my 1st time claying & it was much easier than I expected & I think it may have been clayed b4 since I really picked up virtually nothing on the clay. The surface felt smooth b4 & the clay slid across the paint very easy. I did use much quick detailer to lube though. I'll take pix tomorrow.
