I'm not sure I have this in the right forum but hopefully so.
I have a 2015 Hyundai which has some clear coat scratches on the hood. I've used a clear coat touch up paint which totally removes the defect. I'm sure the scratch doesn't go through the color coat. My problem is that the clear coat touch up won't go on flat enough and it while it's a serious improvement, it can be seen from the side. I'm thinking of using some 2500 wet and dry paper on a small sanding block to take the touch up paint down to the factory clear coat level and then polish or buff the clear coat. Is there any way to get this stuff on correctly right from the start or is it just best to figure on some sanding after the fact?
