  • Hello! New guy with some questions!

I am happy to now be apart of this forum! I own a black 2001 lexus gs430 and i spend most of my time modding/cleaning it then i do driving it

Had a couple of questions, my roof and spoiler on the car are starting to have... What i think might be CC failure :/ but at the same time it could be oxidation.. How could i tell the difference? I would really like to avoid having to repaint the roof and spoiler, but i got one of those mothers ball polishers that u put on your drill and i used some meguiars ultimate compound and tried to remove it.. Didnt seem to work very well.. Any tips

Are you able to upload any pics showing of the roof and or spoiler? Do you have a DA that you can use?

Welcome to Meguiar's Online Discussion Forum!

Most often times Clear Coat Failure will happen on the horizontal surfaces of the vehicle (most affected by the sun), and appear to be white, cloudy patches. With pictures we will likely be able to confirm this for you.

Re: Hello! New guy with some questions!

Thanks for the reply guys, the oxidation/CC failure is very hard to see. I cannot see it in sunlight or shade, only when a bright led light is held over it, like the gas stations lights at night. Polishing and waxing seems to mask the problem but always comes back after a few washes :/

And this is my pride and joy that i hope doesnt have a failing CC

Looks like clear coat failure to me.
