  • Dimond Cut Compound 2.0 85 by hand anyone??

Has anyone tried applying Diamond Cut compound 2.0 #85 by hand. It is recommended for rotory polisher, but can you get a good result? But anyone tried? The reason I asked is because I had good results using Deep Crystal Step 1 Paint Cleaner by had to remove sand paper marks by hand. They discontinue Deep Crystal Step1. I am looking for as sub. thanks

We would not recommend using our M85 Diamond Cut Compound by hand. It is designed only for rotary use. Meguiar's M105 Ultra Cut Compound can be used by hand, D/A or Rotary.

How does the M105 compare to the Ultimate Compound (I know this is a consumer product). I have that one already. The Ultimate compound does not seem to remove the mat finish from sand paper like the Deep Crystal Step 1 did by hand. Can you add more info on this. thanks

If you were able to remove sanding marks with the Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner (which is a very mild product comparatively), I'm surprised you are having a problem with Ultimate Compound. What grit sanding paper are you finishing with?

Agreed. UC is far more powerful than DC.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Just to make sure. I am not talking about the current DC (have not used that one yet). The DC I am talking about is the Step 1 DC.

Not sure what is going on with Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner removing sanding marks, any version is mild. It's possible some of the polishing oils of the DC Paint Cleaner product may be naturally & temporarily hiding the sanding marks. M105 Ultra Cut Compound is a significant step up in aggressiveness from our Ultimate Compound, providing more cut for trying to remove sanding marks by hand. Our M101 Foam Cut Compound is also popular when an aggressive compound is needed when working by hand.
