  • Howdy

About me. . Tennessee hard working guy who has tried to always take care of my cars from my first car a 74 Nova. I come from a time where you did everything yourself starting with taking car of your car.

I have messed up the wife's car and don't know which product to use that won't turn into a bigger problem.

I had had a for sale sign taped to the license plate, it worked well for a couple of weeks but we had a storm and the wind flipped the sign causing it to rub the finish. It is a dark Crimson black (burgundy) so every flaw shows.

    any advise?

It took me forever to figure out how to upload a pic. Hopefully this is going to work.

Will you be doing this by hand or by machine (aka dual action polisher)?

I drove a 74 Nova in high school. It had a straight 6. A real speed machine. Lots of good guys here.

You may want to give ultimate compound a shot with a foam applicator by hand. If you need to get a little more aggressive you can go with a microfiber applicator. You may need to follow up with a polish (ie ultimate polish or M205) if you get hazing (a cloudy like appearance).

Thank everyone for the welcome. I will give the ultimate compound a go.

Ouch! You might be able to get that out by hand, but it will take some work. A DA polisher would be very beneficial to you right about now.
