    Re: Best Meguiar's Wax?

Trying to define "best wax" is pretty tough as different people have a different idea as to what defines "best". Durability, ease of application, shine, depth, etc all come into play. But we don't all see shine and depth quite the same way so it can become a very personal thing. You'll usually get as many different answers as there are products, if only because of these personal opinions.

You're looking for the wax that best make your black paint pop, and quite a few people will be of the opinion that a carnauba wax, like our Gold Class Carnauba Plus, will impart a deeper and richer shine to black paint than any synthetic ever could. But again, that's personal opinion.

The biggest conundrum in all of this is that wax alone isn't really what makes the paint pop. It's not what gives the real depth and gloss to the paint. The vast majority of that comes from the prep work - claying to remove bonded contaminants that make the paint feel rough; compounding to remove below surface defects like swirls, etch marks and oxidation; polishing to enhance the depth and clarity of the paint. If you do those three steps to the best of your ability, maximizing the effectiveness of the various products, your paint will look better than it ever has, and you have yet to apply any kind of wax!

So what are you looking for? Durability? Looks? Ease of use? Other?

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Prep work is what will give that "pop" or deep shine. Claying, swirl removal, polishing will give that. As to which wax will give the "mirror shine", on a well prepped paint, it would be virtually impossible to tell between Ultimate, NXT 2.0, Gold Class Carnauba, Deep Crystal Carnauba or even M26 Hi Tech yellow wax.

Who has the best truck? Ford? Chevy? Dodge? Toyota?

It's what YOU like. Preparation is the key. You can wax all day and without proper preparation, no wax would look good.

M16 if it was available. (I have 12 tins) a tiny bit goes a long way, too much and it's like cement to get off. It is a great protectant.

I like M26 personally, for the available waxes.

I Wash, Clay, polish paint, wax and maintain to keep that paint how I want it.

            Have fun.

Thanks for the reply's, I wash, De-tar, De-iron, clay, polish, wax and maintain every 3 month's and in between after i wash the car i would use ''Meguiar's Synthetic X-Press Spray Wax'' to keep the shine toped up,
I was just asking what wax would add that extra something because i heard ''
Meguiar's Ultimate Paste Wax'' give that so now im looking at ''Meguiar's Gold Class Plus'' and i dont really care about durability as i wax often anyway it's more for look's and ease of use.

M26 is a great wax. By far the best carnauba I have used.

There all pretty much equal, but as said they do vary.

Try them all and see which one suits your preference, cost, ease of application / removal, which covers swirls scratches, gloss, then how durable the wax is.

I'm not currently using meguiars i'm using autoglym srp, flys on and off and doesnt seem to white plastic.

I'm kind of dissapointed with autoglym tyre dressing, last time i used it was over 10 year ago and it seems watery and not as thick as it was years ago, but it seems to go really far product usage.

I'm low on funds and i got 3 for 2 on autoglym

I soppose it's good to check other stuff out against meguiars and see how good products are and if you get low results post results and give meguiars feedback.

Not a good analogy since we all know Ford is the best :-)
