  • Da power system

I've only got a craftsman cordless drill with the max rpms of 650. I know it says on the da tool needs around 1200 to 2500 rpms. Will my 650 do anything or am I better off by hand?

Agreed with murr. U really need a corded drill with that. So ur better off either getting a porter cable da or really the meguiars mt300 would b better choice.

Honestly, even that will be a challenge.

The only cordless drills we've seen that are up to the challenge of anything other than wax application are very pricey, high volt battery tools, and even those will eat the battery long before you're done doing any serious correction on even a small car. Those tools often cost $150 or more while a capable corded drill can be had for under $50 - often waaaaay under. Paired with a good drill the DA Power System can be a surprisingly effective detailing tool. With a choice of cutting, polishing and finishing pads available, and our wide range of compounds, polishes and waxes, it can easily outperform by-hand correction of defects and wax application. But it's only as good as the tool powering it.
