800-2000 too much?

I decided to polish my headlights.

what i used:
400-800-2000-3000-uc-up

problem:
they look nearly flawless, no swirls no maring but there are fine long scratches that i can't figure out which step caused. Im thinking its the 800 but i tried restanding lightly with 800 and more aggressivly with 2000 and they still seem to be there.

Any help?

I would add 1000 after the 800. Unless the headlights are super rough/,yellow you could start with 600
