We packed the house last night, and had a bit of a surprise for the group - we asked our buddy Ernie Manansala to bring in his wild custom Nissan GT-R, "Goliath" for us to work on. Why "Goliath" instead of the more common "Godzilla" for this GT-R? Because Godzilla is a wimp in comparison - Goliath puts out a whopping 1300HP!!!! Ernie debuted Goliath at SEMA last year and promptly won "Best Import" at the GT Awards presented by the Gran Tourismo video game series. Goliath sports a Rocket Bunny widebody kit, Advan wheels, and two Garrett turbos plus virtually everything Greddy makes for the GT-R. No static SEMA display, Goliath is fully driveable (Ernie took me for a neck snapping blast around the business park at the end of the night and, well, holy %&@$! doesn't begin to describe the ride!) and Ernie has plans to compete in Time Attack events with it this year.
But Goliath needed a bit of TLC, and the TNOG was more than willing to help out. Making use of the new MT300 DA polisher, our new DA Thin Foam Discs, and a variety of liquids the team brought back the shine in no time. We've got a time lapse video to start you off and will add some stills a bit later on.
By the way, we plan on making this sort of full detail of a specialty car a regular feature of TNOG this year. If you know someone with a really cool car - Import Tuner, Muscle Car, Hot Rod, Classic, etc - that could use a good make over, by all means let us know!
