  • Advice Required

Hi, this is related to maybe using detailing technique or produts but not on a car. I am just curious if this is advisable and can be done.
Here goes, I got an indoor stationary excercise bike. It's got some shiny spray body and some matt spray base stands. Can I apply the Ultimate wax on it since it's painted anyway on the shiny and matt surface to help slowdown the rusting effect or the sweat from hanging on to this parts ?

    Thanks.

As long as it's not textured (rough) I don't see why you couldn't wax it.

You won't want to use a liquid or paste wax on the matte portions as it will create an uneven appearance. Probably your best bet is to use a spray wax like Ultimate Quik Wax to wipe the whole unit down after every workout. This will add a nice polymer protectant to all surfaces, including the matte areas, and keep it looking good for a very long time.

Wow that is a good idea to use the Spray Wax. Bought one of those and it's being stuck in my store. Finally can take it back out.
By the way Michael, will there be an issue if I dont polish before waxing for this stationary bike ? I think it's not required since I am not cleaning or removing any dirt from the paint corrct and thats what polishing does ? Thanks again.

          Not if it's clean already.

Maybe a qd if dirty first.

Only if you plan on entering the stationary bike at the next concours d'elegance. Otherwise, don't worry about it one little bit.
