Here's the start of going back into mobile detailing, just picked this Astro Cargo van up a couple days ago and been stripping everything but that dash out and thoroughly cleaning and waxing the inside. Here's what me and my little boy has got done so far. Still alot of work to get done but will be up and running in just a couple more days or so. There's some rough places, couple dent's and some surface rust here and there that I'm going to get as soon as Everything is safe and ready for road work.Have alot of Exterior polishing and coating to be done as well as my logo and graphics, Between doing mechanical and stripping everything as I go to work on and/or clean.
I've been searching and studying, plus my past mobile detail truck I have alot of ideals and learning from a lot of pics of some detail vans and trailers that have some great equipment but everything's in the middle and really don't see much room for any products and to me looks like a waste of space so maybe this can help or give others ideals from my van/set-up or if anyone has any ideals or see something I need to do or should/could do for the better, please fell free.
Just have only had a couple days and in between working on and trying to clean up the mess I'm trying to get everything set-up and use every inch of space wisely because I like to carry everything possible. My thinking is "better to have and not need, then to need and not have" So I want to be ready, and since I live around the tri-state I'm 45 minutes from the Ohio and West Virginia line so I will be covering it as well.
Here's some before and after pics of what I'm starting with and will be following up as I go to show me turning a nasty old Cargo van into a hopefully Awesome mobile detail rolling billboard with just about everything needed to do it all and will sometime having a 35 to 50 Gal plastic water tank and a huge power Inverter so I can be completely mobile!
The guy I got this from said he was a painter and went to car dealerships and did a lot of their touch up's and as you can see, he wasn't to neat with it. Going to be alot of scrubbing and cleaning to remove it all but I think I got it figured out and been doing some testing here and there.
This is between the seat's and I just couldn't handle riding in this van the way it is!
Me and my little boy first stripped everything but the dash out and got ready for alot of cleaning and scrubbing!
After using D101 @10:1 and lots of terry towels and 0000 steel wool we got about 90% cleaned wiped down and some D156 Spray Wax. Will be going after the edge at the doors and bumper plastic to also remove all the paint. Just wanted to hurry and get it cleaned, waxed and back together that night.
The floor mats were in pretty bad and nasty shape. Used Purple power full strength and a stiff bristle boat hull brush with lots of scrubbing.
After and no dressing were applied just a clean factory appearance.

Before
After, Still going to go over the front seat's with my Mytee 8070 extractor just to make sure all the dust and stains are gone. And at this point still haven't cleaned the door panels.
Before, sorry picture isn't good quality, still had all my LED lights on and was to much for my camera at this angle.

Up until this point I got most of the inside cleaned and smelling alot better, Now this is the only real mod I've done to go mobile with my cargo shelf in and bolted down, it's out of a E150 cargo van but I had to do some cutting and filing down to get it to go back far enough with the side wall of my smaller astro, but offers alot of space for my cleaners/polishes/waxes & coatings plus about 10 to 11 gallons of my APC's, cleaners, D151 PRC, waxes, D106 &D116 and most used products so I won't run out when I'm out. Here's what I did last night and some this morning. This shelf is going to help greatly with how I like to be loaded down with products and my machines and to use up all usable space
Left just enough room for my Electric Pressure Washer to fit at the very end and going to be using a small ratcheting strap to secure it. Will be butting my Mytee Extractor up on the other side of my shelf and ratcheting it to the floors or sides. Have more room for my shop vac, 12'X12' EZ-UP, my steamer, looking for a smaller hose reel for my water hose, my plateform ladder, my small craftsmen air compressor will be strapped across from my PSI Washer were the jack was mounted, my 5 buckets, fold up tables, my Flex 3401 is in a bag behind my driver seat and my 7424 & 3'' GG Da's will be behind the passenger seat. Still looking for 2 more shelf's I can bolt up higher to carry ll my pads and micro fiber towels in sealed containers and to make due and get all the usable space from this small Astro van!
Will be posting more pics of my mobile van time to time, thanks for looking.
