  • Lids and caps

I wish more though went into designing the lids and caps on Meguiar's consumer products. My first beef is with the lid on my Wash and Wax car wash container. I've used it for 4 washes now and the cap has broken.

I also have a beef with the lids on my Ultimate Compound, Ultimate Polish, and Ultimate Wax. I shake up the products to make sure nothing has settled out of them before I use them. With some of them, I have to "load" the product near the cap. I also have this particular issue with new containers of the products. So with the product loaded near the cap or with a new container, when I open and close them, Ultimate Compound/Polish/Wax squirts all over me and my car. It wastes product, gets on clothes, and spatters already finished areas on my car. Surely you could come up with a better cap design that would keep this from happening!

It's very annoying when that happens.

Do you think it is caused by dried up product within the nozzle?

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

I am thinking the same thing. With those consumer products I remove old product. Look into the self cleaning bottles. You can transfer your products over. They are great.

Nice. They look awesome in these bottles.

Nah. The product isn't drying in the nozzles. I think its more of the bottle being a sealed environment and possibly pressurizing. When you open them, it just always spurts out all over the place! With the Wash and Wax cap, the hinge on the lid broke. It's not the end of the world, but just annoying. With such a good product, I think they can go the next little step and get a better cap/lid/nozzle on these consumer products!

I would settle for a little less product if UC, up, or ULW came in the those types of bottles. Especially the no drip. Sure u could always transfer it but its just easier if it came like that

We actually appreciate the feedback, guys, but we are sorry to hear that you're having less than wonderful experiences with our product simply due to the packaging. We will definitely make sure to pass this thread along to our packaging department so they can hear your collective voices.

My problem is when I set the bottle down after applying product to pad, and product bubbles out of the opening. Sometimes ot blasts out, other times it dribbles out... Very frustrating.

Ugh. The last time I detailed my car, I revisited my frustrations with the caps/lids. First I had a load one product (I think it was either ScrathX or Ultimate Compund) pour out way too much, way too fast. And then with the Ultimate Polish, when I opened the container, it shot out, straight up, and I got some in my eye. I felt pretty ridiculous for a second.

The lids on ScratchX and Ultimate Black get all gunk'ed up with product and dried and nasty.
