  • Supreme Shine Protectant

I'm looking for a water base tire shine for my tires I had got. I called customer service and they had told me this was water based and would be fine for tires. I noticed on the back of the bottle it says contains petroleum distillate. Michelin recommeds no petroleum base shine?

    Re: Supreme Shine Protectant

Supreme Shine and Natural Shine are both water based dressings. That either contains a tiny bit of petroleum distillate is not an issue with any tire. Usually when a manufacturer recommends not using a product with a certain type of ingredient, it's a catch all that basically covers them from warranty claims. People used to use brake fluid regularly to give shine to tire side walls, and it's not uncommon for people to experiment will all kinds of crazy things in an attempt to outsmart chemists working for automotive surface care companies like Meguiar's.

We have never heard anyone complain about issues on a tire from use of these two products, or any other water based dressings well sell - M40, Hyper Dressing, Ultimate Black, etc.
