  • 2nd coat of Ultimate Paste Wax

I just finished putting on a second coat of UPW for my winter protection and I had thought that after the first coat, the car looked 'fire engine red.' Now with 2 coats on there it looks "Candy Apple fire engine red" If the protection even comes close to matching the look, I'll be happy. Unfortunately my camera and my laptop are not on speaking terms so I can't show it off. I'll try later with my cell phone to see if I can get a decent pic to post.

Try a coat of carnauba as the 2 Nd coat.

Not to hijack the thread, but isnt the upw straight wax with no cleaner? Why carnauba?

A carnauba will give a different look with darker colored cars. And having a red car. He will get a deeper glossy red. That's all.

Yes it is. As stated up above, the carnauba will alter the appearance to give a warm wet look. The idea is you get the best of both worlds. The long term protection of a synthetic and the look of a carnauba. The carnauba will be the sacrificial layer. Some may not notice the change in appearance so it's all up to the person.

Will the carnauba not remove the UPW?

No, a straight carnauba with no cleaners won't remove the UPW

Are the Gold Class cleaners mild enough for this or should I opt for a pure Carnauba? (Does Meg's offer one?)
