  • Hello, Thanks, and Product question

First off - hello from Oakland, CA.

Secondly I have been a very happy lurker and am very thankful for all of you and your dedication to providing helpful advice to those new & 'seasoned' detailing users.

Lastly I wonder if someone might direct me to a handy reference guide between the consumer line and professional line of products. Something like Meguiar's Ultimate Compound is most like the M105 and Ultimate Wax is like the XXX. I know the results/strengths are different for the two lineups but just curious what the counterpart between each of the products would be.

Thank you and I hope I am not just missing a 'sticky topic' and this is commonly found in other forums.

    David

Welcome to MOL you have came to the right place. As far as I know there is no professional line product that compares to ultimate wax. But there is M21 synthetic sealant that is NXT 2.0 in bulk.

Re: Hello, Thanks, and Product question

Thank you for your reply. So if I was to fill out a comparison/counterpart chart it would read like:

      Ultimate Compound - M105
      NXT 2.0 - M21

What would M205 and the others correlate with? Sorry if this is not clear or may be they are just too different to do such a list.

#05 would be along the lines of Ult. Polish.

Perfect thank you! I was just getting a bit confused when reading posts in the forums when both lines were being referenced.

              Happy detailing!

Re: Hello, Thanks, and Product question

                Hi David, welcome to MOL!

Out of all the various products we have in both consumer and professional formulations, not everything crosses over. The vast majority of compounds and polishes in the pro line have no direct relative in the consumer line, and very few of the consumer protectants and cleaners have any direct relatives in the professional series. We can add a bit to the list that The Guz provided though, but keep in mind that these products are related to each other, not necessarily exactly the same thing:

Ultimate Compound - Derived from M105
Ultimate Polish - Derived from M205
                NXT 2.0 - M21 2.0
                Ultimate Quik Wax - D156
                Ultimate Quik Detailer - M135
Ultimate wax - No pro equivalent
Hot Rims Wheel & Tire Cleaner - D143
                Ultimate Wash & Wax Anywhere - D115
                Deep Crystal Polish - M07
Deep Crystal Carnauba Wax - M26
                Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner - D102
                Michael Stoops
Senior Global Product & Training Specialist | Meguiar's Inc.

Thank you! This is exactly what I wanted. It was just hard to follow in the posts where people used both lines.
