  • Corvette care

I just purchased a '92 Corvette that is dark green. Any problems or caveats with this paint at this age?

I'm assuming it can be treated as any other finish?

    Yep.

...And I've heard Corvette (and GM in general) paint is quite hard. That's a generalization though, as always, do a test spot.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

BTW, you didn't really say what condition the paint is in, or what you're trying to achieve.

My response above assumes you're trying to remove swirls / scratches / other defects from the paint.

As Davey indicates, with the caveat if hasn't been repainted. Pictures would be helpful for us , as would be a list of tools and products available to you. No matter what, do a small test spot with the least aggressive method before getting carried away. Don't use a jackhammer when a tack hammer will do ! (figure of speech, no real hammers required)

Ok I have a blk 2001 vette. I used M105 & M205 with a PC 7424xp to get the paint finish to my liking. Now all I do is clean with last touch and do waterless washes. I also use M26.
