Re: Testing out some new products..

Thanks for the feedback. The only reason I have held back on picking this up is because it's an all in one product. As an enthusiast I would prefer a stand alone leather sealer or conditioner in the detailer line. If the leather sealer from the leather sealer system was in a gallon size I would pick that up in a heartbeat.

Great results Eldorado! I'm A brush junkie as well, I can't have enough. Have several container's labeled for different functions. Been going to the make up isle and getting some of the brushes for applying make-up but use these for dusting off the dash, radio bezel's and the fancy wood look plastic trim pieces that you see in alot of newer vehicles these days that are filled with swirls.

Thx bud, I'll check it out. I've got a feeling it's about the whole alkaline nature of the APC? I've been meaning to pick up some 303 fabric guard.. I've seen it for good price on the bay.

Sorry I missed this when it was originally posted. Ric, you're turning into a detailing maniac - we love it!!! Watch out for those sponges on certain interior surfaces, especially leather. You never want to scrub with any real force using those, and you don't even want to scrub aggressively with terry cloth on leather as it's pretty easy to abrade through the coating and start damaging the color dyed into the leather.

But the way that floor matt cam up.... yowza!!!! And we love the zebra striping on the towels after using D114. That's an indicator of proper technique, for sure.

Yea I chucked those sponges a long time ago and will be sticking to my trusty soft nylon brush for scrubbing leather & vinyl when it needs it..

Btw I just picked up some new Megs product that I'll be trying for the very 1st time.. Quik Interior Detailer. I bought this specificly for my parents brand new Kia in hopes of maintaining it fresh, clean and unaltered. I'm looking forward to topping QID with the Megs New Car Scent Protectant once it's availiable for purchase. I also won my very 1st auction on ebay recently and scored this little Master Blaster Sidekick for only $41!

Nice score on the sidekick. I love mine. You will like QID. I use it prior to applying a protectant on my cars as well as my brothers and parents. I even use it to pick up light dust in between interior clean ups.

I've only had it for a few days so all I've done is tested it on a set of wheels & tires after cleaning them with some D143. The Sidekick is sweet! It's able to completely dry each wheel & tire in about a min. time. Bone dry! No more waiting for it to dry on its own after washing = great stuff.
Not sure if I could justify paying full price of $100, but then again this is the kind of stuff you Wish you had around from the very 1st time you ever washed a car... Walmart has it online for $64.99. I cant wait to enjoy what it can do after a full handwash in between the headlights, mirrors, grill, trunk lip, etc... I've wondered if I could somehow modify an extention on the rubber nozzle in order to use it to clean microfiber pads the same way compressed air does.. It'd be worth a shot to just test it as is and see if it can clean em. If it can that would put it over the top!

As far as the Quik Interior Detailer.. I thought it worked quite well. The smell is sort of interesting.. It's sort of appealing in wierd sort of way, kind of how Elmers glue was interesting to smell back in kindergarden. Remember those days? Lol.

My mom disliked the smell. She disliked even more how her new Kia no longer smelled new because of it. Please tell me the scent goes away soon._.

I told her I've already thought about that new car smell it has, and how I'm waiting for the new Meguiars New Car Scent Protectant to be availiable soon. She just nodded her head, as if to say 'ok hurry up and get some so my Kia can smell new again'

All you need to scrub leathers seats or carpet is a three dollar brush at target it is black and white. You don't need to buy all these fancy applicators or fancy dedicated cleaners for a specific area and to apply apc on carpet it is much easier to buy a $10 pump sprayer at Home Depot so your hand won't get overwhelmed, furthermore, yes , you will waste more product but it will be more effective and less work in your behalf. When I do carpet interior first I use apc to clean all the carpet and leave it spotless then I use my mytee hot water extractor just with hot water inside to pull out all the chemicals I used and extract the dirt. The apc is the best and at a good price as well. If you want pictures of the brush send me a message.

Also you don't need the rich leather cleaner all you need is apc; dont get me wrong the leather cleaner is good but if the seats are too dirty it won't be as effective. And if you use apc on wood or metal surfaces it will leave a residue behind so I follow it with Meguiars quick interior and problem solved.

Re: Testing out some new products..

I picked up a SideKick from Wal-Mart ship to store. It was cheaper than anywhere I could find online, including Amazon. I paid an extra $12 for a two year warranty. I have used it on some different vehicles, a boat, an enclosed trailer, and a few others. It works great IMO, one of my best purchases lately. It took me around 2 minutes a tire, and around 10 minutes on the rest of my Tahoe to dry the entire thing. It did great on the grill, mirrors, windows, and all other cracks and crevices that I could find. I also used it to blow out the interior, and it worked great too...must have IMO.

@Larry90. Yep, I know I don't need any fancy applicators to scrub the seats & carpet.. That's why I get most of my scrub brushes from the 99 cent store. Lol.

Now as far as getting a pump to spray APC on interiors/carpet? That would be a no go for me.. You see, I don't have an extractor and I'm not looking into getting 1. [at least not now]
I am however looking into buying a steam cleaner.. I'm debating on whether to go get it today or wait a bit for any possible black friday deals on it... So as far as the pump I'd have to say no way since it's bad enough having to wait for the minimal ammount of APC that I spray manually. [hence 1 of the reasons I'm looking into a steamer]

And yea I know I don't need 'leather cleaner' to do the actual cleaning on leather. I bought the D180 for 'conditioning' purposes. I know about D101, I've got a gallon of it and use it quite often on alot of surfaces including the leather.. But you know what cleans leather even better than APC? Soft Scrub. It cleans Way better. Lol. [Now I'm Not advising you or anyone else to go and try it without researching it 1st and being carefull, but it worked a miracle on my Cadillacs' leather interior]

                            $3 brushes sound a bit too fancy:p
I get mine for only a buck and they work awesome
Orange 1 scrubs leather seats.. White 1 cleans carpets. It did ok on my floormat in my 1st post

@cfilly. Reading what you just said about the Sidekick makes me want to go outside and wash a car just to use that darn thing right now

Looks great! Have you thought about a good quality fabric spray protectant to help keep from having to clean as often or to see if they wouldn't be as dirty.
