Oh boy.... this does not look good. This is a cheap respray on a Honda Accord, and it needs some serious help.

This is the factory paint on the door. It's pretty rough, too, but at least there is a reflection among all those swirls. This we can handle pretty easily.

A quick test spot with Ultimate Compound on a yellow foam polishing pad.....

..... and we've got some real progress here. The swirls are almost totally gone and there is virtually zero haze. Looks like we have our combo.

Take a closer look: Before, with plenty of swirls and scratches.

After: Look at all that blue metal flake in the paint!!

Back up to the hood and we have an idea. In this class we want to teach both traditional foam polishing techniques, but also the microfiber correction system.

So, while the guys got to work on the side of the car......

.....and continued to hone their skill set (under the guidance of our own Nick Winn no less)......

.... we decided to quickly DA damp sand the hood.

With the hood completely sanded with just a 3000 grit finishing disc, the microfiber system could do it's thing and bring back the shine. The combination of 3000 grit DA sanding and the DAMF System brought a level of clarity to the paint that it hadn't seen since leaving the body shop.

Heck, the clarity is better even looking through a layer of hazed wax that it was before we started. Amazing what you can do in about 30 minutes with a little knowledge and skill.
