  • How to remove this mark/scuff on my fender (pic inside)

I have this on my list for a few weeks already and planning on working on it in a few days.

Wondering how to remove an apparent paint swipe from a duffus who could not drive/park properly.

Looking around my garage I see I have some bottles of SwirlX, Scratch2.0 and Ultimate Compound and some claybar.
I have a friend with a DA so if it's needed I may be able to borrow it. Looking for advice on how to best remove. Thanks in advance

It's hard to tell from the pic but is there paint removed or is it just paint transfer from the other car?

This is the key to determining how easy or difficult this will be to fix. If paint has been removed you've got a serious problem on your hand. But if it's paint transfer from the other car, then ScratchX 2.0 or Ultimate Compound should take this off quite easily, even by hand.

I can't see any of my own paint removed. I tried some areas where I could remove the dark paint with my finger. Other areas I could not see behind the paint. In no area I see any of my paint removed.

Try some ultimate compound on a little area. If it's removed it's paint transfer. If it's not removed have the other person's insurance or your insurance cover the damage.

Hopefully it's just paint transfer from the other car.

Try some Ultimate Compound applied with a foam applicator pad and see how you go.

Finally could spend some time on this. I tried UC by hand and could not get it off. After 5 tries with my best effort I gave up and tried to get a hold of a DA.
With DA and UC after a few passes I got it completely off. Could not get the phone camera to do a better focus job but here is how it ended. Thanks for the advice.

Now just get that dent out unless its a reflection. But PDR can do wonders.

That is actually a dent not from the scratch but from something in my garage that fell on the fender. Need to look for some PDR guys around here who don't break the bank.
