      Re: #80 availability?

M80 has not been discontinued. We used to use M80 as our go to product in our Saturday Classes since, at the time, we didn't have anything in our consumer line that could correct like M80 could. With the introduction of Ultimate Compound in 2009, things changed pretty dramatically. UC will cut much faster than M80 and in many cases leave an even nicer finish. M205 also changes things quite a bit, especially if you're dealing with a clear coat paint finish. It will cut like M80 but the abrasives are much more advanced so it usually adds a lot more clarity and overall gloss to the paint as well.

What is it that you're looking to do with M80? What tools are you using, what type of paint, etc? Knowing this can help us better steer you toward a more modern equivalent to M80.

        Re: #80 availability?

Thanks for the reponse Michael. I've been using #83 & #80 for years and am having ahrd time finding #80 anywhere, looks like it's even backordered here. Anyway, just a weekend warrior, I use #80 & a R/O to correct swirls, etc so if UC or 205 will work better, let me know. I have a 08 black magic pearl Passat, a 90 pearl blue Corrado and my wife has a 08 black slate pearl Escape. I typically use #21, but will use #26 if I'm going to a show.

I see #80 on eBay and amazon all the time. But as mr stoops points out there is updated versions. But there is always a use for all products depending on the paint and project . However I believe mike Phillips once said find what u like and use it. But as everyone else on here knows its fun to experiment with different products.
