D143 Detailer Non Acid Wheel & Tire Cleaner

I have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland with the 20" Aluminum Wheels. Is the Non Acid Wheel and Tire Cleaner safe for these wheels?

Yes. It's not a hard core cleaner, it's a great weekly cleaner that gives awesome results for both the rubber and the wheels.

Are the aluminum wheels OEM? Because they are probably clear coated if so.

Otherwise, if im not mistaken, D143 is not meant for BARE aluminum and powder coated wheels.

Yes, they are OEM. Just picked up the car a month ago.

Use your soap and water soultuon and a MF mitt to clean the wheels, only use wheel cleaners when soap and water doesn't get the job done. Also put a sealant on them, it will make them easier to clean and protect them.

D143 I believe is an all wheel cleaner such as the hot rims version.

D143 is safe on all factory coated wheels so you're good to go. It is, however, very important that you use the product correctly, and by that we mean follow the directions on the bottle!! Spray one wheel, let it dwell for a few seconds (not several minutes), agitate as needed, then fully rinse with water. Move on to the next wheel and repeat. The biggest mistake you can make with this is to spray it onto all four wheels and then start agitating the first wheel. By the time you get to the last wheel the product will likely have started to dry on the surface and that's just not a good idea. Follow these directions and you'll be fine.

Mike will D143 be okay if I just spray all 4 wheels and then rise off, I want something that I dont have to agitate. I have been using Wheel Brightener but it just doesnt seem strong enough and I still have to agitate.

It's recommended to not let D143 sit on any wheel longer than recommended. It's best to focus on one wheel at a time. It will still need to be agitated to remove brake dust. Keep your wheels sealed and all you need is soap and water.

I you're not wanting to agitate your wheels, you're going to have to so some REALLY frequent cleanings, almost daily. The heat of the rims, caused by the brakes really makes the brake dust and road grime really stick and 99 times out of 100 you will have to do some agitation.

If I'm reading this right, the Hot Rims 'All Wheel and Tire Cleaner' is the same as the D153 and even with weekly or twice weekly washes, I still have to agitate. It's kind of like expecting a touch less wash to clean you car completely without leaving a dirt film (which they always do).

@Homer. D143 is not stronger than Wheel Brightener. Are you dilluting D140 at the recommended ratio of 4:1?
I use Wheel Brightener to maintain the wheels of a new Kia here at home, and I never have to scrub them.
