  • 1996 Ford Expedition

This is my first post, and also my first business detail.

This was a 1996 Ford Expedition, the owner did not want a full paint correction because he was going to sell it ASAp, but he requested that i just "clean it up" and make it look shiny. This is the worst thing i have ever worked on and it was fun because i learned a lot because I am just starting out and it was a great experience. Now the car was a total mess, deep scratches, swirls, and heavy heavy oxidation. I will let the pictures speak for themselves, but to tackle this car, I didn't want to do a full correction because that is not what the owner wanted, so I chose the 1 step AIO, Meguairs #6! Well here it goes!

    Process
Wash - Turtle Wax Rinse Free Wash (Pretty decent stuff)
    Dry - Mothers Drying Towel
    Clay - Meguiars Clay
AIO - Meguiars #6 Cleaner Wax
    DA - Porter Cable 7424xp
Pads - Orange Hex Logic Pad

    Before

    (That was washed lol)

    After

    Conclusion

I was able to remove all the heavy oxidation, remove minor minor defects, and bring this paint back to life, it was a first for me and the owner was ecstatic, that was what really made this detail all worth it. Very good feeling! I have everyone here to thank for all the great information and detail in every thread. Hopefully more cars to come, hope y'all enjoyed this thread!

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

It seems that these images are hosted with a Google+ account maybe? It won't allow you to link to them from a forum like this so, unfortunately, we aren't able to see them here.
