Weather is finally warm enough to get outside so I was able to try out Ultimate Black on some of my trim, I like it, but it's streaky when it dries. The best way I was able to figure out is apply w/ a pad then remove right away w/ a MF cloth, any other application tips you'd care to share?

Meguiars Ultimate Black
I happen to be using it yesterday and this is what I found:
1. Apply to surface cool to the touch
2. Apply using applicator pad
3. Upon applying, allow it to sit for 2-3 mins
4. Wipe off clean using microfiber to a refresh finish
Please take note, to get the best result, ensure that you have plenty of light to not miss any spot.
I used it on my motorcycle and loved the results.

Re: Applying/removing Ulitmate Black
The best way to apply Ultimate Black is to use a foam wax applicator pad and work the product into the surface very thoroughly. A little bit goes a long way but it really does work best when worked in well rather than just wiped on and wiped off. If you work it in properly there should be no need to come back and wipe of any excess - there won't be any excess to wipe off and it will be totally dry to the touch in a matter of minutes.
As long as you don't have some other durable polymer on the surface (ie, you have never used Ultimate Quik Wax on the trim) then the polymers in UB will help it bond to the surface and stay put through a few washings or even exposure to rain. You should be able to get a couple months durability out of the product, but we do see some surfaces where the bonding isn't as strong and durability suffers. It's pretty fantastic on older, more neglected surfaces though.Michael Stoops

Re: Applying/removing Ulitmate Black
I use a disposable cheese cloth type of rag, which gets very black with dirt. I also use a toothbrush to get into narrow rubber drip rails, etc. I'll work in the product and wipe off the excess with an MF rag, especially where it gets onto windows, body paint, and so forth, which is a devil to remove, and gets worse later if you let it dry and bake in the sun. I try to use UB when the weather forecast is clear for the next few days, so that the product will soak in and bond better, which lasts weeks/months. Even then, a rinse or rain after a fresh application will create lots of oily residue where the water runs off those applied areas. That residue seems harmless and comes off easily with a little QD and an MF, but again, do not let excess UB dry on your glass or painted surfaces.
