  • M16 replacement?

I've been looking for a carnauba paste wax on this forum. I found a post stating M16 has apparently been discontinued since sometime before 2009.

What has taken the place of M16 and why was it discontinued?

Give M26 paste wax a shot. You could go synthetic and get ultimate paste wax. You also have gold class carnauba.

As luck would have it, i have M26, M21 and GC+. I have a blk car and read carnauba gave the best finish. I always layer with NXT or M21 first then top with a carnauba. There are several companies with carnauba product and wasnt sure if i were missing something with Meguiars.
        Thank you for your advice

          Re: M16 replacement?

Changes in environmental regulations in the US meant we either had to drastically alter the formulation for M16 or suspend sales of it in domestically. The changes required to meet the new regs would have been so sweeping that it would have been a totally different product. Since we were not willing to do that to such a highly regarded product, we chose to stop selling it in the US, although it is still available in many markets outside the US. Crazy thing is, we still make it in the US, which is fine according to regulations, we just can't sell it here. Go figure.

If you're looking for a really nice looking carnauba wax to use over your synthetic, you've already got it in your possession: M26 High Tech Yellow Wax. We've applied this side by side with a "premium luxury" wax costing over $1000 for 8 ounces and nobody at the event could tell them apart. And, yes, we did this on black paint.

Thank you for the reply. Good to know i made a good choice for once. Actually this forum is responsible for that decision. I normally find my answer before making a post.
I cant wait to try this out when the snow stops and detailing weather returns.
