  • Cat scratch fever

I drive my 01 Vette to church each Sunday. This morning I discovered the garage door was left open all night. Much to my dismay a cat had gotten in and proceeded to walk all over the hood of the vette.
The vette is black. I added a coat of carnauba this week so it the hood was plenty slick. I could see every step that cat took along with the claw marks. Hell I can even see where it fell off the hood.
I spent 3 hrs removing the scratches using a PC 7424XP and m205 on a orange LC pad. Hood looks good now.
I have a pellet gun that needs to be sited in. Hmmmm, i wonder what i can use for target practice.....

Or a nice bowl of antifreeze outside the garage. That cat would die for sure.
Doing the best I can with what I've got.

We have stray cats that people keep feeding around our neighborhood. One time there was a cat on top of my girlfriends hood of her car. And I also saw foot prints on mine. I sprayed a cat one time when it was laying down on our deck.
      Don't get caught riding dirty!

U can't blame an animal for being an animal. Instead of blaming the cat for doing something, blame ur selves for not doing the something to protect it in the 1st place. Now I'm sure each of u wouldn't harm an animal, but in today's world it isn't funny to even joke about cuz there are just to many Out there who do for no good reason at all.

I know it's not nice to find damage to your car, but the comments mentioned by the first couple of posters are concerning to me. This isn't the forum for these comments.

Animal cruelty should not be treated lightly.

I hate this politically correct wussified version of America we live with today where everyone is offended by anything that isn't the same as what they think.

Out on the farm, if some "critter" is bothering the livestock (or sits on one of my cars) it is dead meat. Political correctness is for city folk.

Discussions of animal cruelty aside (this is NOT the place for that discussion - period.) it's nice to know you have the skill set to remove the damage caused by the cat walking on the hood of your Corvette. I'm always paranoid about accidentally leaving my garage door open at night, but then again the, um, "stray" cats roaming our neighborhood tend to be a bit on the large side and I'm more worried about what they might do to me or my wife if we surprised them one morning. The wild bobcats are bad enough, but the mountain lions are the ones I really worry about. The coyotes are no big deal, unless one of our small dogs is with me.

Keep your buffing skills up, and keep the darn garage door closed!

So by being offended by another's thoughts you are hating yourself then?

Exactly how far into the woods do you live Blueline?

Man, I didnt mean to get anybody all riled up.
I was only trying to be funny. I wouldnt put out anti-freeze. I would have a bunch of dead squirrels laying around. And yes, I like squirrels more than cats.
But man, you guys gotta loosen up.

The vette is double protected at this point. Garage doors closed and locked. Vette under a cover.

How long is a ball of string? Actually I do not live in "the woods", but on a farm, near other farms, who are near other farms, that, may or may not be out in the woods, or near towns or cities. As for injuring a cat, some folks really need to understand "bravado".
We have several, and not one has ever been chastised, abused, or injured. Well there was that one tractor incident.

IDE b the 1st one to agree with u on political correctness garbage. But u have to at least sound like ur joking and not serious. I think this country is out of control on alot of things. And the hottest topic now seems to b anti bullying. I don't agree with it but just seems that in today's world everything is bullying. But back to cars and how wonderful meguiars products are.
