  • Ultimate Paste Wax

    Hello All,

I'm very skeptical about the Ultimate Paste Wax (and the price of it) but, I'd be willing to spring for it based off y'all's recommendations. I currently have the White Wax, but I've read a few threads on how it's more of a "cleaner wax." I could use guidance and clarification.

If it helps to know, my car is Candy White.

    Thank you all!

UPW is pure synthetic sealant with no cleaners or polish oils in it.
WW is synthetic sealant with cleaners and polish in it. More cleaner function than polish.
Black Wax is like white wax but with more polish function than cleaner functionality, but still has cleaners in it.

You will not be disappointed with UPW. Very nice, very durable, not the slightest bit finicky like some other sealants out there. For a nice two step, use White Wax 1st, it will clean and polish, and leave a base coat of wax. Top with UPW, good to go.

If your car is pretty new it may not benefit dramatically from White Wax. WW is great for lighter colored vehicles that maybe haven't been kept up to as a high a standard as they could be. The cleaners will do wonders to brighten the paint back to what it was when new. If you've been taking really good care of your paint (ie, claying, cleaning and polishing regularly) then it doesn't really need a deep cleaning that will enhance the finish.

Ultimate Wax is a 100% synthetic sealant that happens to be our longest lasting, best protecting paint protection. On dark colors, especially metallics, it really imparts a very deep look while making the metallic pop. On lighter colors, like your Candy White, it gives a very brilliant shine with a lot of clarity - pearls and lighter metallics get a very bright look.

Actually, Black Wax and White Wax are carnauba waxes, not full synths. They do have varying levels of cleaners in them, both using SMAT abrasives for the cleaning ability, a first for our consumer waxes. White Wax has enough cleaning ability in it to make it a great one step for light swirl removal if applied with a DA and polishing rather than finishing pad.

Well, "pure" doesn't have to mean "natural", does it? Pure synthetic as in "purely synthetic, no carnauba". At least it's certainly not an oxymoron on the level of "jumbo shrimp".

It might be somewhere in between a "near miss" and a "near hit".

                Re: Ultimate Paste Wax

I just bought some ultimate paste wax and tried it for the first time this week, I'd say the stuff is great, easy to apply and looks wonderful. If you want to see more details you can see my blog post on it at http://nlcarblog.blogspot.ca/2013/10...excellent.html.

                  Re: Ultimate Paste Wax

Mind you, I'm not a 'wax/ sealant junkie'... I believe "how the paint looks" is strongly dependent on the preparation of the surface... read- cleaning, decontamination, polishing.

However, to UW's credit (paste and/ or liquid), it is surviving 3+ months on my daily driver (test vehicle for my detailing business) in the Pacific NW. The vehicle is washed every week and every two weeks, it receives a D156 (Ultimate Quick Wax- consumer) wipe for maintenance. And you probably know of the rainfall and weather we get here. For over-the-counter or boutique, mail order, it doesn't get better, either way you look at it. (Pun intended.)

UW & UQW= incredible value, protection, looks, ease of use. Love it.

                  For what it's worth...

I love ULW, it's great stuff.

I use it on both of my White Cars, 05 Ram and 06 Jeep Liberty, The jeep is ULW topped with M26 while the Ram is ULW alone.

                    I maintain with M135 and D156.
