Meguiar's Detailer Line in Canada

Ok, so for months and moths now ive been calling the Megs 1-800 number and have recently had ONE call back from a Rep in PQ, however, im still not getting the answer im looking for.

Can someone tell me why D300 and most of the other Detailer line is not available in Canada?

the answer ive been given is "its just not been released in Canada yet".

Is there more to this? is there something checmically thats keeping this and the entire detailer line out of Canada?

There is no "chemical reason" (ie, nothing in any of them places them outside any sort of regulatory actions imposed by the Canadian Government) for them to not be sold in Canada. What it really comes down to is that there are extremely few outlets wanting to carry these products in Canada. We've had some changes in our structure in Canada in recent years that has seen an increase in the number of our consumer products being sold there, the Detailer Line and Pro Line are a very different story and most traditional retail outlets simply don't see their consumers purchasing these items and with the constant ongoing fight for shelf space at retail, nobody is going to take on a line that they don't believe they can sell. Believe us, we'd love to see everyone stocking all of our products, regardless of country, but we know that will never happen. It's much easier for online retailers to carry even the most esoteric products because retail shelf space is not an issue for them (it's actually non existent for them!) as they just stack everything in a warehouse.

but i must say it differs greatly from my megs suppliers...they basically are telling me they are trying to get it in Canada and Meg's isnt letting it happen for some reason....

id love to discuss more.

Jeff, which suppliers are you talking to? I know you left me a voice mail but I'm not really the guy to discuss the ins and outs of what needs to be done in order to get these or any other products into Canada. Our Canadian distribution is essentially handled by the existing 3M infrastructure that distributes the 3M line into Canada. Believe me, they are not reluctant to move more Meguiar's product north of the border, but currently they don't have a strong enough business case for it. Remember that our Detailer Line here in the US is even in limited distribution compared to Mirror Glaze and certainly consumer retail. The DA Microfiber Correction System was originally released through just 17 distributors in the USA and has only grown very slightly from that, if at all.

Any update on this? I may be able to help if we are looking for case quantities. One of my suppliers can special order them. IF you had any luck with this i might be interest for personal use as i don't need cases.
