    Thanks in advance.
Don't let claying scare you Angela. With light pressure using the right clay and plenty of lubricant, it's almost a no brainer. Meguiar's "mild" clay is the place to start. Videos by the ton on this subject.

It's always a good idea to clay before using a compound to clean your paint surface. but the clay isn't likely to remove the bird etching, it just cleans the surface in preparation for your polish/compound. As for the bird poo, you may need the next level of aggressiveness, Meguiar's Ultimate Polish or Ultimate Compound. I assume you're working by hand, not a polisher?

Thanks for the info. That video did ease my fear of using the clay. So if that doesn't get the stain off, then you think using the Ultimat Polise or Compound will do it? Which do you recommend trying first? Yes, I am doing all this by hand.

You will likely need the cleaning ability of a product like our Ultimate Compound for removing of the stain. A couple things to keep in mind when working by hand, a clean soft foam wax applicator pad is typically our preferred accessory for applying a product like our Ultimate Compound. Work on a clean & cool surface in the shade, keeping your hand flat, apply the product in circular overlapping motions with moderate pressure. You can work the product in for a minute or so, it will break down to a light wet film, which you will want to wipe of with a microfiber towel. You can repeat this application a 4 - 5 times or so in any particular area, but if the defect is not removed after this many attempts, it is actually safer to use the appropriate machine to remove. Sometimes we are limited in what we can remove by hand. You do not want to rub a small quarter size bird dropping spot with aggressive pressure all afternoon long, hand flat, with the technique recommendations above is best for applying by hand.

        Hope this helps!
