did a kinda sucky first wax job

put a bit too much on I think.. the roof is still got a lot on there.

I'm sure I'll get the knack of it, but as for tomorrow (i'm exhausted after everything now) is it ok to go bacvk to getting it off with the MF polish towel? or do i need to spray it first? its just sitting in the garage now.

If you get dust on it, you'll want to work with the QD spray to gove some lubrication, and not just drg dirt around.

And yeah... if you can use the words 'a lot' you used way to much.

Either way, use a QD spray to help you remove the wax residue.

...And try not to use so much wax next time - you'll get the hang of it.

You won't be driving the car around before you fully remove it will you?

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

It's fine It's a common mistake we all have done.
A detail spray should work fine. or wax. like removes like

^ Nothing... it's just that dirt would have settled and you don't want to rub a dry towel over dirt and what not.
This is why everyone was saying to use QD to lubricate so that you don't scratch the paint and not to mention, using some QD will loosen up the dried wax and make the job easier.

The wax seems to have disappeared this morning. had a good look over and it looks very nice (to me anyway).

I think the mistake I made was not waiting 10 minutes for the wax to sit, and I was just moving the wax around mainly. I eventually got most of it off but it was a little smeared, not the mirror reflection I was hoping for :P. (the wax video on the 5 step page was missing but I since found another one of it so I'm good now).

Here's a little before and after of the car before wash, clay, polish and wax.

As mentioned, you don't want to get dust on it, because when you go to buff the wax off, you will be rubbing dust/dirt into your paint.

Strange that it would have disappeared the next day. Was it a layer of unbuffed wax, or just some streaking? Which wax did you use?

BTW, your photos aren't showing up..

ahh.. It must be because I removed them from flickr after I used the url to post them.. I'm selling something on ebay today so I can reupload then later on.. ( I wanted the ebay photos to appear on top)

I must have been streaking.. I used Meguiars Gold class Liquid wax.
